Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 June 2026 · Effective from: 25 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use AnotherWalk, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep this short and plain on purpose — if anything is unclear, just email us.

1. Who we are

AnotherWalk is a self-guided walking-route service for Amsterdam, operated as a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands. For everything in this policy, AnotherWalk is the "data controller" under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service.

Account data

When you create an account, we store your email address. We use passwordless sign-in ("magic links"), so we never ask for or store a password.

Purchase data

When you buy a route, we store a record of which route you unlocked and when. Your payment itself is handled by Stripe — your card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and never reach our own systems.

Location data

If you tap the "locate me" button in the app, your device shares your location with your browser so the map can show where you are. This happens on your device; we do not store your location on our servers.

Usage data

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to understand how many people visit our pages and which routes are popular. It measures visits in aggregate and does not build a profile of you across other websites.

3. Why we use your data and our legal basis

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

4. Who processes your data for us

We rely on a small number of trusted providers ("processors") to run AnotherWalk. Each only handles your data on our instructions.

5. Where your data is stored and international transfers

Our account database is hosted on infrastructure located in the European Union. Some of our providers are based outside the EU (for example in the United States). Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Invoices and payment records are kept for 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires us to. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data except for what we are legally required to keep.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

To use any of these rights, email support@anotherwalk.city. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

8. Security

We use reputable providers and sensible safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously.

9. Children

AnotherWalk is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let account holders know by email.
